Letter from the Chair 2017

2017Happy New Year from PEGA-SIS!

Whether you are returning to a post-holiday sense of normalcy or beginning a new academic semester, January always seems to bring new beginnings to mind. For PEGA this is no different. 2017 is slated to be a year of growth and advancement for PEGA as a Special Interest Section—with so much new and creative content in the works.

Keep an eye out for a revamped version of our SIS page on the AALL website, as well as semi-regular newsletters alerting you to new content. Two new regular features PEGA has developed include a professional mentoring & advice column and a member profile feature.

Ask PEGA will debut in our inaugural issue of the newsletter in February. Ask PEGA will allow AALL members to anonymously ask questions to our pool of upper and middle managers at law libraries of all types and sizes. If you are looking for some professional advice, consider dropping a question into the mix—maybe Ask PEGA can help!

Our second featurette will be our member profile, Show Us Your Shelfie! Members will be selected at random to answer a few short questions and share a selfie of them by their favorite bookcase. We look forward to learning more about each other in such a fun and engaging format.

Last, but certainly not least, in 2017 PEGA wants to expand our educational content by building a collection of career and leadership related materials, offering year-round opportunities for scholarly support by expanding our Beer & Edits program, and developing educational content for all AALL members. Be sure to enroll in our first PEGA sponsored webinar this March where you can learn more about how to develop a strategic plan for your career!

New years are full of new opportunities and we look forward to growing and advancing our SIS this year so that we can continue to help you grow and advance your careers! Happy New Year!
